At half-time in the Audi Football Summit friendly at Hong Kong's Kai Tak Stadium on August 7, 2026, Bayern Munich hold a 1-0 lead over Aston Villa. The only goal of the first half came in the 37th minute when South Korean defender Kim Min-jae found the net. Vincent Kompany's side have dominated proceedings with Manuel Neuer, Jonathan Tah, Konrad Laimer and Tom Bischof all starting, while Maycon Cardozo picked up a yellow card in the 26th minute. Aston Villa, featuring Marco Bizot, Pau Torres, Boubacar Kamara and Emiliano Buendía in the starting eleven, have struggled to create clear-cut chances against the German defence. The Bavarians are without Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala, who are still on extended leave after the World Cup, but have shown enough quality to take the lead. Interestingly, the two previous meetings between these clubs both ended in 1-0 wins for Villa — most recently in the 2024 Champions League group stage. Could Unai Emery's Europa League winners find a response in the second half? The match is being streamed live on FC Bayern TV PLUS and VillaTV, with Bayern fans already dreaming of a perfect end to their Asian tour before the Super Cup clash against Borussia Dortmund on August 22.
