Jodie Hutton, the Charlton Athletic midfielder, scored a goal that is already being called one of the best of the Women's Super League season. In the 39th minute of the match against London City Lionesses at The Valley, Hutton contested a lofted ball on the left flank, chested it forward, burst into the box and unleashed a stunning left-footed half-volley that rocketed in off the underside of the crossbar. The strike was Charlton's first goal of the season and their first shot on target of the campaign, leaving goalkeeper Sophie Whitehouse with no chance. Hutton said afterwards: I just thought, you know what, I'll hit it, revealing that coach Karen had been urging her to be more composed in front of goal. Despite the 4-1 defeat, Hutton's goal was voted the Barclays WSL September Goal of the Month and also won Charlton's internal award, making it a double triumph for the midfielder. BBC described it as an unbelievable strike, adding that you won't see many better goals this season. How do you rate this goal in the context of the WSL season and can Hutton repeat such a finish.
