Celta Vigo were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Malaga at Balaidos, with Adrian Nino scoring a late equaliser to deny the hosts all three points and extend their winless run at home in La Liga. The first half was completely dominated by Celta, who pressed high up the pitch, moved the ball quickly and created several chances, pinning Malaga deep inside their own half for long spells. Einar Galilea was booked on 24 minutes for a cynical foul, followed by Yoel Lago on 26 minutes as the visitors struggled to contain Celta's attacking waves. The hosts finally broke the deadlock on 41 minutes when Ferran Jutgla finished clinically from Hugo Gonzalez's cross, curling the ball into the far corner and sending the home fans into raptures. In the second half, Malaga pushed forward in search of an equaliser and got their reward on 83 minutes when Nino converted Pablo Martinez's cross from the right, silencing the Balaidos crowd and snatching a precious point. Celta dominated the statistics with 61% possession and 14 shots, while Malaga managed 9 attempts. Jutgla was named man of the match for his goal and lively performance. With seven points from five games, Celta drop to 10th, while Malaga climb to 16th with four points.
