Olise double completes stunning 14-minute comeback as France beat Belgium 4-1

France produced a stunning late comeback to beat Belgium 4-1 in their Nations League Group A1 clash at the Stade de France, with Michael Olise scoring twice in a devastating 14-minute burst. The match, played on 5 October 2026, marked Zinedine Zidane's first home win as France head coach and extended his unbeaten start to four matches. Belgium took a shock lead in the 35th minute when Dodi Lukebakio latched onto Romeo Lavia's defence-splitting pass and finished calmly past debutant goalkeeper Guillaume Restes, the youngest French goalkeeper since World War II. France dominated possession but struggled to break down a disciplined Belgian defence until Zidane made a triple substitution on 60 minutes, introducing Olise, Rayan Cherki and Desire Doue. The game turned in the 77th minute when Doue equalised with a superb low strike from the edge of the box. Four minutes later, Cherki put France ahead, converting Olise's cutback. Olise then scored twice himself, in the 88th minute and in stoppage time, both assisted by Doue. France now lead Group A1 with 10 points from four games, three ahead of Italy, while Belgium remain third on six. Can Zidane's side go all the way in the Nations League.
