Maccabi Tel Aviv 1-0 Sheriff Video Goals and Highlights review of the match

In the second qualifying round return leg, Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated Sheriff 1:0 on neutral ground in Batumi and advanced comfortably to the next stage . The only goal in the 29th minute came from a bizarre mistake by the visitors, when Sheriff forward Samba Kone deflected the ball into his own net after a cross from Roy Revivo . Interestingly, referee Mikkel Redder did not call for a VAR review for this episode, as the goal was awarded almost immediately . Maccabi had already crushed their opponents 5:0 in the first leg, so the tie was effectively over by halftime of the return match . Maccabi won 6:0 on aggregate and will face the winner of the CSKA Sofia – Qarabag tie, while Sheriff will continue their European campaign in the Conference League .
