Hamburg 1-2 Everton: Full highlights and all goals videoEverton snatched a dramatic 2-1 victory over Hamburg in a pre-season friendly at the Volksparkstadion, with a last-gasp own goal from Jordan Torunarigha in the fourth minute of stoppage time sealing the win for the Toffees. The match, played in front of around 40,000 fans as part of Hamburg's Volksparkfestival, saw Everton take the lead in the 40th minute when Thierno Barry produced a moment of brilliance, holding off defenders inside the box before back-heeling the ball into the path of Merlin Rohl, who finished with precision into the far corner. Hamburg responded strongly after the break, with new signing Patson Daka levelling the score in the 49th minute after a slick combination with Rayan Philippe, slotting past Mark Travers to the delight of the home faithful. The game appeared destined for a draw until the dying moments, when 18-year-old substitute Braiden Graham intercepted a loose pass from Hamburg goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes to Daniel Elfadli, drove forward and sent a dangerous cross into the box that Torunarigha could only divert into his own net. Everton's Ukrainian full-back Vitalii Mykolenko played the entire 90 minutes, contributing solid defensive work on the left flank and helping his side see out the win. David Moyes' side controlled large portions of the second half, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Hayden Hackney combining effectively in midfield, while Hamburg were dealt an early blow when Nicolas Capaldo was forced off with a knee injury just eight minutes in following a heavy challenge.
