Como 1907 made a dream start to their historic first Champions League campaign, sweeping aside RB Leipzig 4-1 at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia. The Italian side, back in Europe's elite competition for the first time, took the lead on 15 minutes when Martin Baturina scored the club's first-ever European goal, finishing calmly after a cutback from Anastasios Douvikas. Baturina turned provider on 38 minutes, threading a magnificent through-ball for Douvikas to race clear and slot past Maarten Vandevoordt. Assane Diao made it 3-0 on 54 minutes, racing onto Nico Paz's pass and firing into the far corner. RB Leipzig pulled one back on 58 minutes through Andrija Maksimovic's stunning left-footed strike from outside the box, assisted by Christopher Nkunku. Maximo Perrone sealed the historic win in the 90th minute, finishing Nico Paz's through-ball with a composed left-footed finish. Como registered 14 shots with 6 on target, while Leipzig also had 14 attempts but only 4 on target. Baturina was named man of the match. With three points, Como sit top of the group stage table, while RB Leipzig remain in 32nd place. Can Cesc Fabregas' side maintain this momentum against Feyenoord next week?
