Lamine Yamal produced a masterclass in Seville as Spain thrashed Croatia 4-1 to extend their record unbeaten run to 40 matches. The 19-year-old opened the scoring after just 70 seconds, latching onto Alex Baena's through ball and finishing clinically past Dominik Livakovic. Croatia equalised against the run of play in the 28th minute when Dion Beljo powered home Ivan Perisic's cross with a towering header. But Spain restored their lead just three minutes later, Yamal turning provider with a corner that Marc Pubill headed in for his first international goal. Fermin Lopez struck the post in first-half stoppage time as Spain pushed for a third. Yamal got his second in the 63rd minute, combining with Pedri before firing a low left-footed shot from a tight angle into the bottom corner. Nico Williams, on as a substitute, sealed the win in the 89th minute with a powerful finish after cutting inside from the left. Luka Modric received a standing ovation when he came on for Croatia with ten minutes remaining. Referee Serdar Gozubuyuk from the Netherlands issued five yellow cards, including bookings for Marin Pongracic, Petar Sucic, Alex Baena, Marko Pasalic and Josip Misic. Spain now sit top of Group A3 with six points and remain unbeaten in 40 consecutive matches.
