Venezia 2-4 Fiorentina: Mastantuono hat-trick inspires first win of the season (full highlights)

Venezia and Fiorentina played out a six-goal thriller at the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo on Friday night, with the visitors running out 4-2 winners thanks to a sensational hat-trick from 19-year-old Franco Mastantuono, on loan from Real Madrid. It was Fiorentina's first victory of the Serie A season after three straight defeats, and new coach Paolo Vanoli will hope it marks a turning point. The home side took a shock lead on 22 minutes when Akor Adams latched onto Gianluca Busio's cross from the left and fired past the goalkeeper. But Fiorentina responded with a devastating two-goal burst in the space of 60 seconds. Mastantuono equalised on 29 minutes after a fine pass from Alejandro Jimenez, and made it 2-1 just a minute later, finishing off Betu's through-ball. Yoel Schingtienne was booked on 38 minutes. Mastantuono completed his brace on 66 minutes, converting Nicolo Fagioli's pass, before sealing his hat-trick on 84 minutes from Cher Ndour's assist. Antoine Hainaut pulled one back for Venezia on 86 minutes, finishing Rhidgecio Haps' cross, but it was merely a consolation. Venezia had 11 shots with 4 on target and 47% possession, while Fiorentina dominated with 18 shots and 9 on target. Mastantuono was named man of the match, becoming the youngest Fiorentina player ever to score a Serie A hat-trick. With six points, Fiorentina climb to 6th, while Venezia remain 16th with two points.
